Documentaries are wonderful media to change our world by making awareness about various concerning issues such as the documentary Saving the face, winner of Oscar award directed by Pakistani borned Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Daniel Junge. In my view, documentary is a proponent of vigilance through entertainment movement. - no political slogans and tainted agendas, no bandh (strikes and shut-down), and consecutive price hikes in Nepal.
It is an honour for NJAC to co-present Hanuman Airlines documentary in TNFF 2012. In an effort to support the TNFF’s mission and Nepali documentary artists and producers, NJAC hosted documentary presentation in collaboration with TNFF in the Annual General Meeting in January, 2012.
TNFF celebrates the diverse languages of Nepal by encouraging films based on indigenous languages such as Gurung, Rai, Sherpa, Magar, Limbu, Newari, Maithali etc. TNFF also encourages representation of women filmmakers and filmmakers of marginalized communities.
Please join the ‘vigilance through entertainment’ movement, attend TNFF along with your family and buddies on March 17. For more about TNFF, visit www.tnff.ca.

Aama samhoo is the most admired word in Nepal especially in the villages where women are leading changes and contributing in the development of society. Aama (आमा) means mother and samhoo (सम्हू) is analogous to club or group. Nepal has been plagued by brain drain problem from dawn of its history. People during their productive period spend their lives out-of the country to make decent livings for their families in Nepal. Older people and children, household responsibilities, festivals, cultural and religious ceremonies are left in the hands of women to deal with. Despite of all odds, aama samhoo organize programs to raise funds for social welfare, development and promote harmony – they are executor of excellence.
On February 26th, 2012 a group of enthusiastic women have organized aama samhoo here in Mississauga-Brampton region led by NJAC. This aama samhoo has taken responsibility to organize Canada Day annual potluck picnic 2012. In their first pitch, they have laid plans to organize Food Donation Program in that event. This initiative is taken to support Canada Food Bank.
Aama samhoo invites Nepali diaspora living in the Toronto Area to support their efforts by participating in the potluck picnic on Canada Day 2012 and donate dry-unexpired food. This effort not only promotes women leadership role but also present collective opportunity to contribute in Canada. (click on the image below for more pictures of the event.)

Although she had smaller version of cake cutting ceremony in her daycare (Oct., 2011) on her third birthday, we couldn't wait to get home to had her heartful of enjoyment. Not big just with a few kids and household people; celebrated, everyone enjoyed the small gathering, playing with firecrackers since it was Deepavli time as well, her grandparents were online watching video live show of the celebration. After a while my wife took her upstairs for the bedtime. Next thing was not quite a good time, we had to rush her in the ambulance for high fever. On that day, she had mild temperature in the morning. Her teacher said she had good day (all day). After-work rush and for the party preparation we just forgot about her mild temperature. Obviously, she looked okay all the time until fever shoot higher and unbearable. It was a bad experience and a good lesson for us not to lose focus under any circumstances when it comes to the child healthcare.(Event Photos > click here < ) Last Updated (Monday, 21 November 2011 23:53)
